This page is intended for use by smear takers. It contains resources for smear takers including national guidance which they need to be aware of and implement in their practice. This helps to ensure that the cervical screening programme is effective.

14 day turnaround
The Cancer Reform Strategy outlined a target to reduce the length of time taken for a woman to receive the results of a smear. The target is to reduce the time from the smear being taken to the woman receiving her result to 14 days.
