The NHS Breast Screening Programme provides free breast screening every three years for all women in the UK aged 50 and over. The latest research shows that the programme is now saving 1,400 lives every year in England.
Breast cancer is very rare in women under the age of 40, but if you’re a woman, then you should be aware of how your breasts look and feel and what you should do if you notice any changes.
The NHS Cancer Screening website has information and advice on breast cancer which includes a Frequently Asked Questions section.
