Get yourself checked – go for screening when you’re invited.
Modern screening can detect cancer early and spotting cancer early can save your life. Screening can also find something which could become cancerous if it was left untreated, so the message is, if you get a letter from your GP inviting you to be screened…….go! Make sure you’re registered with a GP and that they have your correct address.
Special screening tests are also offered to all pregnant women and newborn babies. To read more about these please click onto the links below.
NHS Health Checks aims to help you lower your risk of four common but often preventable diseases: heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and kidney disease. It’s for adults aged between 40 and 74 who have not already been diagnosed with any one of those conditions.
