Alcohol when consumed in moderation and responsibly is associate with increased sociability and well being and represents an enjoyable part of many people’s lives in Hampshire. But when consumed in excess there is another side to alcohol which isn’t so much fun. If you regularly drink more than the recommended daily amount, you could be damaging your longer term health.
The NHS recommends that pregnant women or women trying to conceive should not get drunk. and should avoid drinking alcohol. If they choose to drink, to minimise risk to the baby, they should not drink more than one to two units of alcohol more than once or twice a week.
