This area of the website is dedicated to publishing the policies and business processes of NHS Hampshire and its forerunner organisation, Hampshire Primary Care Trust. The documents shown here have been thoroughly reviewed, approved and ratified, and as such they are to be considered as the only point of reference for staff. This site is also made available to the public to aid transparency in our operations.

Staff wishing to author new policies or request the update of any existing documents, should refer to the processes and guidance given in The Policy for the Management of Policies before embarking on any work. An MSWord version of the policy is available in the format and style required of our documents. A Policy Registration Form is to be sent to The Compliance Unit at Omega House before any policies will be considered for approval and publication on this website.

All policies should take into account the requirements of:

The Standards for Better Health and compliance with the new CQC regulations
The NHSLA Risk Management Standards for PCTs

Our policies are presented in five main categories:

Corporate (inc. Risk and Information Management)
Health & Safety (inc. Infection Control)
Public Health
Commissioning (inc. Priorities Committees Policies)
Human Resources

Policies that relate directly to clinical services provided for NHS Hampshire can be found on the Hampshire Community Health Care (HCHC) website.

It can take some time to develop and distribute standardised policies, procedures and documents and to ensure that they are practised safely and consistently across the whole organisation. This means that, while new documents are being approved and ratified, some policies from the former Primary Care Trust still apply. If you would like to access copies of these policies that are pertinent to the former PCTs within Hampshire, please contact the Compliance Unit at Omega House.
