NHS Hampshire places high priority on improving the health and well-being of children and young people in Hampshire.
NHS Hampshire commissions Hampshire Community Health Care to deliver the Healthy Child Programme - the national programme for child development.
Children and young people’s health and well-being involves a wide range of services and agencies, from childcare, maternity services, schools, hospitals, GP surgeries, mental health services, sexual health services, drug and alcohol teams and teenage pregnancy teams to advice and support services such as Connexions.
We are working closely with Hampshire County Council and other organisations, such as Hampshire Community Health Care to bring about a more ‘joined up’ approach between the agencies working with children and young people, in line with the Government’s Every Child Matters agenda.
