The van which is taken to various locations across the Hook and Basingstoke area highlights how easy it is to find a local NHS dental practice in the local and is just one way in which NHS dentists are promoting their availability.
“We’re really pleased to be accepting new NHS patients and are keen to spread the word that spaces are available so thought the van would be an ideal way to let local people know about the service,” said Lindsey Argrave, practice manager from Dentalcare Hook. “We offer NHS services to adults and children and are open Monday to Saturday including earlier in the morning and in the evening for some days.”
“Finding a NHS dentist could be difficult a few years ago so I’m really pleased that following investment in these services we have so many practices accepting new patients,” said Natalie Jones, head of dental services – commissioning and contracting for the Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth PCT Cluster. “All of the dental practices are keen to let local people know that they can register with them and have been developing innovative ways of letting local residents know about their services. I would urge anyone who wants to register with a NHS dentist to contact the Dental Helpline to find out what is available in their local area.”
In addition to Dentalcare Hook there are currently over 90 dental practices across the county accepting adults and children. In addition there are 18 dental practices currently registering children only. Registering with Dentalcare Hook or an NHS dentist in your area couldn’t be easier – simply visit the Dental Helpline website or call 0845 050 8345 or 023 8082 8151. If you are housebound and need to be seen in your home, talk to your GP, district nurse or health visitor who will be able to make a referral on your behalf.
