We regularly carry out equality impact assessments (EqIA), to make sure we are delivering our services fairly and that we are not discriminating against any particular group.
Assessments are undertaken when a new service is being introduced or a service is being changed, so that we can deal with any potential inequalities early on.
An equality impact assessment is similar to a risk assessment and takes into account the views of the general public as well as those of groups likely to be affected by the change or decision.
